Saweety Boora hopes to win the seventh Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships and defend her title

<p>The 7th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships 2023 will begin on December 21 at the GBU Indoor Stadium, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Sweety Boora, the gold medalist in the 2023 World Championship and the current national champion in the 81kg class will be the center of attention.</p>

<p>Boxing Federation of India is organizing the tournament, which is slated to take place from December 21–27. Over 300 boxers from 35 units will compete for top honors in 12 weight categories.</p>
<p>Boora, a Haryana native, won silver in the Light Heavyweight division at the 2014 World Championships. At the Asian Championships, he also took home gold (2022), silver (2015), and bronze (2021). She wants to keep her title on the field. The likes of Haryana’s Manisha Moun, the bronze medallist in the 60kg category of the 2022 World Championship, and 2020 Tokyo Olympian Pooja Rani will compete fiercely in the 7th Elite Women’s Nationals against Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Jasmine of Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) in the same category. Arundhati (SSCB) and Ankushita Boro (Assam), two Youth World Champions, will also compete for first place in the 66kg division.</p>
<p>The Railway Sports Promotion Board is keen to repeat its previous edition’s success, having taken home ten medals.</p>
