SS Rajamouli Laments the Death of Ray Stevenson: It Was a Pure Joy to Work With Him

S. S. Rajamouli's homage to Irish actor Ray Stevenson upon his demise so clearly demonstrates that he was a much-loved guy on the sets, despite the fact that he may have portrayed the villainous British Raj governor of Delhi in “RRR.”
“Shocking,” wrote the creator of “RRR.” Can't trust this news at all. Ray infused the sets with an incredible amount of vigor and intensity. It spread easily. It was a delight to work with him. I'm sending up prayers for his family. May he rest in peace, his soul.
Stevenson died suddenly on Sunday at the age of 58, according to IANS.
His acting career began in the 1990s with guest spots on TV series. He then started getting action parts in Hollywood movies in the 2000s, with Volstagg in the Marvel 'Thor' saga being his most well-known performance.
He portrayed Dagonet, one of the Knights of the Round Table, in Antoine Fuqua's 2004 action blockbuster “King Arthur,” which was his first significant acting job. 'Variety' notes that in the movie, his character gives his life in combat to aid Arthur (Clive Owen) and his warrior fraternity.
According to “Variety,” Stevenson received a leading part in the Marvel movie “Punisher: War Zone” in which he portrayed the eponymous mercenary, alias Frank Castle.
Stevenson had a role in the forthcoming action-adventure limited series “Ahsoka,” a Star Wars spinoff called “The Mandalorian,” before he passed away. He portrayed Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi who fled into the Unknown Regions to evade Order 66. He serves as Shin's master and Thrawn's ally. His last part would be in this one.
