After his film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, is Rajinikanth going to retire?

Is Rajinikanth, a superstar in Tamil cinema, preparing to leave the business after his 171st film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj?
After Tamil director Mysskin said in an interview that Rajinikanth's planned project with young, experimental director Lokesh Kangaaraj may be the superstar's final film, rumors began to circulate in the industry.
The director's remark quickly gained popularity on social media. Many Rajninkanth followers who are adamantly opposed to the disclosure have turned to social media to express their disbelief.
One supporter said, “Thalaiva will not make such a choice. Another supporter demanded that rumors be put to rest. The actor's supporters claim that since he never mentioned retiring, they will not accept anybody else who claims to be him.
'Jailer', starring the legend who is 72 years old, will be his next motion picture. It will be released on August 10 under Nelson's direction. The next in line will be “Lal Salaam,” which was directed by Aishwarya, Rajinikanth's daughter.
TJ Gnanavel will helm Rajinikanth's 170th movie, tentatively titled “Thalaivar 170.” 'Thalaivar 171' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj will come next. Sun Pictures is most likely to produce it.
For his 171st movie, director Mysskin said that Rajinikanth would collaborate with Vikram and Kanagaraj. Mysskin claims that Rajinikanth contacted Lokesh and expressed interest in working with him.
Mysskin, who is starring in Lokesh's film “Leo,” added a twist by speculating that “Thalaivar 171” would be the last film in Rajini's almost five-decade-long career. But he acknowledged that he was not certain about it.
Rumors concerning Rajini's retirement from acting, according to his followers, are not new. Since “Kaala” (2018), there has been discussion, although the seasoned actor has continued to take on for new projects. They hope the celebrity will continue to keep them entertained.
In addition to Tamil Nadu and the rest of South India, the actor has millions of admirers all throughout India. His fans treat the release of his movie like a carnival.
On December 12, 1950, Rajinikanth, whose true name is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, was born in Bangalore to a Maharashtrian mother.
He battled greatly in his early years since he was raised in a modest middle-class home. Before joining Bangalore Transport Service as a bus operator, he worked as a porter and a carpenter. He first developed an interest in performing around this time.
N. T. Rama Rao (NTR), a renowned Telugu actor and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, became 100 years old this month, and during the festivities in Vijayawada, Rajinikanth confessed that he was deeply moved by NTR's portrayal of Duryodhana in the film “Srikrishna Pandaviyam.”
The actor added, “When I was a bus conductor, I portrayed the role of Duryodhana played by NTR at a function, and because of the praise I received, I started taking interest in acting.”
'Apoorva Raagangal' (1975), directed by K. Balachander, was Rajinikanth's debut as an actor. He had a supporting part in the film with Kamal Haasan playing the major role. He took supporting parts at the beginning of his career, but once he made a name for himself as an actor, he never looked back.
He has worked on movies in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. He has a cult following among his admirers, who nickname him “Thalaivar” with fondness.
He had intentions to pursue politics, much like many other well-known actors in Tamil film. He abandoned his intentions in 2021 however, citing his ill health.
