On Sunday, Manchester City went to the top of the Premier League thanks to Erling Haaland's 50th goal of the year.
After just three minutes at Fulham, the prolific striker gave the reigning champions the lead from the penalty spot. With a game still to play, City won 2-1 at Craven Cottage to go ahead of longtime league leader Arsenal by one point.
With his goal, Haaland tied the Premier League record of 34 goals in a season held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.
While Haaland's total came in a still-unfinished 38-game season, both of those players reached their totals in 42-game seasons.
With his goal in the 4-1 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday, Haaland had already surpassed Mohamed Salah's mark of 32 goals in a 38-game season.
The Norway international is certain to set a new outright record with six league games left for City this season.
Tim Ream took down Julian Alvarez, and from the penalty spot, Haaland blasted past Fulham custodian Bernd Leno. Ream subsequently sustained an arm injury and was replaced by Issa Diop.
Carlos Vinicius for Fulham tied the game after 15 minutes, but Alvarez's goal for City put them back in lead at the 36-minute mark.
